Forestry mulching and land clearing are the core of what we do at 9 Arrow. Our approach combines high-production equipment, experienced operators, and an uncompromising standard for finished quality—delivering efficient land clearing with minimal ground disturbance and a clean, professional result. Whether the project involves selective clearing, mass acreage clearing, or right-of-way preparation, we tailor each job to the land, timeline, and long-term goals of the property owner or developer.

Forestry Mulching and Land Service in The Heart of Texas
Forestry mulching is our primary method and the service we are best known for. Using purpose-built forestry mulching equipment, we clear trees and vegetation by grinding material exactly where it stands—eliminating the need for pushing, piling, hauling, or burning. Depending on terrain and production requirements, we deploy compact track machines for tight access, slopes, and uneven ground, as well as large articulated wheel machines for high-horsepower, high-production projects. This allows us to efficiently clear everything from light regrowth and dense brush to large hardwoods and mature trees.
What sets our work apart is what we call the 9 Arrow finish—the condition of the site when clearing is complete. For commercial and infrastructure projects, that means consistent production, predictable results, and a site ready for the next phase without rework or cleanup delays. For private landowners and developers, we deliver a smoother, more refined finish – opening up beauty and accessibility. With every project, our aim is toward your desired goal while prioritizing efficiency, precision and quality.
Our land clearing services expand beyond mulching when full vegetation removal is required. For development sites, infrastructure projects, or areas where regrowth must be prevented, we perform grubbing operations using bulldozers and excavators to remove root systems and prepare sites for construction. For lighter clearing needs, we utilize agricultural equipment to mow tall grass, light brush, and overgrown areas.
We routinely clear land for private ranches, residential properties, commercial developments, and large-scale utility projects. Our experience includes precise clearing for roads, easements, survey lines, and utility rights-of-way such as pipelines, powerlines, and water corridors—where accuracy, safety, and consistency matter.
Every forestry mulching and land clearing project begins with a clear understanding of the end goal. From small tracts to multi-thousand-acre projects, we deliver efficient, environmentally responsible land clearing with the quality, reliability, and finish our clients expect.
You've got questions. We've got answers.
Forestry mulching can handle everything from light underbrush to large-diameter trees. Smaller, lower-horsepower machines are best suited for brush and smaller trees, but can still process larger material—it just takes more time. For larger trees and higher production needs, we deploy high-horsepower machines designed for faster, more efficient clearing at scale.
Forestry mulching and dozing produce very different end results. Dozers remove trees and root systems, which often brings buried rock to the surface—especially in the Texas Hill Country—and disturbs the soil, increasing erosion risk. Mulching, on the other hand, leaves the soil intact and creates a smooth, even layer of organic material that acts as natural erosion control.
Mulching equipment performs most efficiently on relatively flat terrain with minimal surface rock. That said, we regularly operate in areas with elevation changes and moderate rock conditions. Our equipment is designed to handle challenging terrain while still maintaining productivity and protecting the site.
Production depends heavily on tree density and terrain. Smaller machines typically clear about 0.5 to 1 acre per day, with higher output in lighter conditions. Larger, high-horsepower machines can range from 1 to 5 acres per day, making them ideal for larger-scale or higher-efficiency projects.
In most cases, material is mulched in place and evenly distributed across the property. This creates immediate ground cover that supports erosion control and soil health. If needed, mulch can also be stockpiled for reuse or hauled off depending on project goals.
Mulching returns organic material back to the soil, helping retain moisture, reduce erosion, and promote healthy regrowth. Burning, by contrast, can damage the soil surface and delay vegetation recovery for extended periods. Mulching delivers both clearing and long-term land improvement in one process.
